Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Creekside Commons is midway between Eureka and Arcata, some two miles down a valley and a half mile up a hill/mountain.
For a residential retreat how many people can you accommodate?
We can comfortably accommodate eight to ten guests. Share with us what you have in mind and we may be able to accommodate more.
What facilities are included in a residential retreat?
This depends on the nature of the retreat and your desires. Facilities that can be made available for you and your guests include—the Cabin, Cottage and Bungalow; inside performance/dance/theatre studio; an outdoor cooking and eating area; the Greenhouse performance space; hot tub and sauna; outdoor fire pit areas; bocce ball court and multiple outdoor barbecue areas. Let us know what you have in mind and we can see how we can accommodate your wishes.
How much would a retreat cost?
Assuming you want to rent all three lodging spaces the minimum would be $450.00 per night. Use of other facilities, depending on the nature of your event would increase the cost. There is a two-day minimum. There are also pet fees to consider should you bring your dogs.
What are the food/cooking possibilities?
The Cottage and the Bungalow have complete kitchens. The Cabin has a smaller half kitchen. There is an outside cooking picnicking area. A favorite of ours is the outdoor oven which when hot does great pizzas in less then ten minutes. There are multiple barbecues. For those interested in having your event catered we can help you make the necessary contacts or for an additional fee arrange the catering.
Are there performance spaces?
There are currently two performance spaces. Our Greenhouse performance space is perfect for small intimate musical performances, poetry readings and two to three character scenes. Audience limit to 30 or so people sitting on bench type seating. Our main performance space is the Studio. You can set up a 16 by 12 acting/performance space and comfortably seat 40 to 50 people. This space has a limited lighting set up.
